Nepenthes ephippiata inhabits ridge top vegetation in mossy forests, and is believed to have a fairly wide distribution throughout Borneo. Pitchers grow to 6 inches high and are robust, like N. lowii. The unusual pitcher shape makes this a sought-after species, still rare in cultivation.
